Ledda 18 Vanilla Nera

Prior to purchasing, I saw reviews on this so I was hesitant to get it. However, I was placing an order because I have been stalking Orris and it finally came back in stock! The price of this when bundled made this an easy purchase!

The initial spray is a bit bright but short lived. Then I pick up an ever so minor pencil shavings note (this is how my nose typically reads cedar even though there is none listed as a note here) most likely the Indonesian Patchouli that I am detecting. It then becomes a warm resinous vanilla. A bit spicy if not woody. There is also perhaps a smidge of smokiness but really nothing overly discernable. By no means is this a gourmand vanilla but rather the other end of the spectrum.

I wouldn’t say that this is a safe blind buy for vanilla lovers but if you enjoy a lightly spicy resinous and warm vanilla you would enjoy this. I also see this as being unisex - perfectly down the middle.

I just did a review of Shalimar which to me was super smoky. I could see people that like that but want less smokiness enjoying this. This is a distant cousin to that. To me, this is also not as deep or heavy by any means.

This would work wonderfully as a layer to add warmth to fragrances. I can definitely see this singing in the cooler weather and can’t wait to try it then.
