This is a refined version of traditional Arabian scents but with a slight french twist on it. 2nd December opens up with a citrus note paired with Oud. It is a dark, resinous and sweet Oud note and projects heavily off of skin fron the get go. Upon getting whiffs of it in the air or just going close for a sniff, you will notice something hovering underneath that Oud note. That is the leather, slightly smoky, almost like those Bakhoor pods but not being overpowering. Drydown is leather and amber doing a lot of the work with the Oud being slightly mellowed.

This has excellent performance. Even in summers you can easily expect minimum of 8-12 hours on your skin. Works best in the evenings or nighttime, even better if it's a bit cold outside. Being an Extrait it projects a lot in the opening hours and can last on your skin for upto a whole day. Stays for days on clothes. Do be careful though, white shirts could get ruined if sprayed from upclose.

So, 2nd December, it's a fragrance for those who appreciate strong notes that are used in abundance rather than being paired with a multitude of other ones. It doesn't try to be something it is not, it embraces it's character and that is what makes it so good. Despite being so high quality, it is something which could easily be someone's signature scent, it could be a great layering fragrance. It's versatility is surprising and that in itself is what elevates this scent for me. Simple, effective and persistent.

For the price you can get it for, it serves its purpose and then some.
