Where Lemon Meets Cream

Up top we have a whole tree of lemons, but there's nothing sharp or rindy - the vanilla immediately washes over them, making them feel soft and creamy.

I have an image in mind of lemon shells, the flesh removed, blended with a vanillic cream, and then spooned back in, creating a lemony custard that smells almost edible. The sandalwood only adds to the smoothness, while the vetiver makes me imagine little green specks of herbaceousness, dotted throughout the custard.

There's a gorgeous softness here, which to my nose, smells the most alluring from the Allure Homme line. Yet much like it's older brother, Allure Homme, the longevity leaves much to be desired.

If you're anything like me and only feel irritated by perfumes which need topping up by lunchtime, there's a saving grace: Xerjoff Uden. This takes the woody-vanilla, soft-citrus DNA and elevates it to another dimension entirely. If your budget stretches, you'd be getting a superior version of this lovely smell, with niche-level quality and excellent performance.
