Something to bring me back to baseline

I'm more than content with my single life - my work, my hobbies, my routines - and the thought of bringing someone into all of that can feel a little daunting. Communication needs to feel effortless, silences peaceful, and the whole thing should leave me feeling energised rather than depleted. I'm wary of who I let into my life, but tonight... well, tonight felt easy. Maybe a little too easy.
I'm back home now feeling like a teenager again, which is both a wonderfully lovely feeling and, if I'm honest, a little frightening. That familiar sense of excitement, anticipation, and "oh God, are we doing this... again?" And yet, despite all the overthinking, I think the answer is yes. I think I do want to do this.
Anyway, I need something to level me out tonight - something I know intimately, something reassuringly familiar, something that feels like coming home to a place I've never even been.
Ambre Sultan is that guy - dense, rich, resinous goodness, that to my nose, and to that of many others, remains the definitive amber scent even three decades after its release. Gorgeous stuff.
