You Better Like Tobacco and Rose!

I have always been a hater of rose for my own personal perfume tastes, though I don't mind it on someone else. And having sampled quite a few tobacco perfumes, I have further concluded that tobacco is not for me (again, perfectly fine on someone else!). Really, sampling bdk's Tabac Rose was more of an academic experience for me. With all that said, this perfume is beautiful.

In equal measure you have a strong, heady spiced rose over the top that gradually and very purposefully fades into a smooth, rich, slightly sweet tobacco. The performance is VERY good (strong projection and many hours on skin) and the profile is VERY unisex. I don't get much besides rose in the way of florals. The vanilla provides a sweet backbone on the drydown while cinnamon provides a warm spiciness in the first couple hours. It is all high-quality and quite well-executed.

You had better like tobacco and rose (and maybe vanilla, just to be on the safe side); if you don't, you will absolutely detest this perfume. It has nothing redeeming for my own personal wearing enjoyment, but I still acknowledge that it is a very artful exercise in perfumery. As a final note, it is not a safe blind buy in the slightest, but it will be a true joy for those who like the scent profile. Well done, BDK!
