I was at my parents’ place yesterday and my dad asked if I wanted this, otherwise it was going down the sink. He hasn’t worn it in probably 20 years or more. I know nothing about this fragrance but that sounded like a worse fate than it deserved, so I adopted it. I don’t know how old this bottle is, just that he had it years before I was born in 1993.

First impressions: difficult to pick apart the notes because it just smells like my dad. Specifically my dad when he was dressed nice. Which makes me sad actually, because that usually meant he was leaving for work, and little Tori would be waiting all day for him to come home 🥺

I guess I’d say it’s spicy and aromatic with a warm ambery base. Not too heavy though. It feels very “business man in the ‘90s” but I obviously have some bias here. Definitely not my usual type of fragrance but I love how nostalgic this is!

      Not yet!! I want something floral but it’s tricky because my fiancé dislikes a lot of my favourite florals, and I want to pick something that we both love. The top contender right now is probably Eau Rose Eau De Parfum 😊 he only owns 2 fragrances so I guess he’ll be wearing Burberry Sport for Men or Polo Blue lol

    This was my fragrance late 80’s early 90’s. I was in high school and college then. I picked up a bottle recently at Marshals and still like it.

      No actually! He’s not much of a fragrance guy, I think he only wore it to seem more professional at work. He stopped bothering once he’d been at the company for a few years

    I love everything about this post. Saviour of the perfume moment, the wonderful memories the scent produced and the baby Tori pic! I always find it so hard to describe perfumes that I’ve k own for years too, it’s easier to remember the association, people and events. Did you tell your dad that it smells ‘like him’ to you?

    I love how perfumes can evoke memories like this, my mums signature scent was actually the women’s version of obsession and since she passed five years ago I treated myself to a bottle of it just to have that olfactory memory that brings me closer to her.

    A classic! I love that fragrances can hold so many memories. I have a handful that I rarely wear but keep purely for that reason. Occasionally I’ll spray it on and I’m instantly transported back in time. It’s wonderful 😊 it’s great you have one like that!
