Warm vanilla

Never had an opportunity to try the original vintage version, but got my hands on a mini of a current version. And it's quite nice, I must say.

The opening has an herbal medicine quality to it, which isn't the best. It feels heavy, bitter, and is definitely the worst part about this perfume. Thankfully, that goes away in less than an hour, so you're left with a very pleasant drydown of a warm spicy powdery vanilla.

It indeed reminds me of a less complex version of Shalimar drydown. But it also works on its own as cosy fragrance I reach for during short, cold winter days. It's definitely not as sexy or animalic as the original Obsession was, but it's still a good nostalgic scent.

The sillage is quite modest, but it does last through the day, especially on clothes. It's exactly the way I prefer this perfume to be, as it could be very cloying otherwise with how heavy the scent is.

In summary, I'm not sure if I'll be buying the full bottle of this, but I wholeheartedly enjoy using the miniature version on colder days.
