Before the Rain

It opens with a bright, almost shocking hit of cardamom and freshly brewed black tea. It settles into the tea, the tea isn't sweet, more like dry tea leaves and slightly sweet and creamy fig. The dry tea and fig are blended in such a way it evokes sweet tobacco. The iris surrounds the tobacco in a soft powder, becoming smokey with the vetiver making its presence known. Dry woods emerge with a kiss of vanilla. As the vanilla and tonka develop, the woods become creamy, grounded by earthy patchouli. This one is not linear, and I enjoyed my journey on this cool, cloudy morning. A perfect prelude to the impending rain. Perfectly unisex with a masculine lean. It's mature and sophisticated yet comforting and unpretentious.
