Scent destination: Paraguay 🇵🇾❤️

To fully appreciate this beautiful scent, I think it helps to understand the brand story and ethos: founded in 2021 by Sebastian Tissot - who previously spent many years sourcing sustainable perfume ingredients for Firmenich - after becoming frustrated with the lack of adoption of sustainable practices by the international brands he was working with, Nissaba was created with the aim of supporting local communities involved in the cultivation and harvesting of perfume plants around the world, helping them sustain and grow their livelihoods. As for the fragrances themselves, this is also done a little differently - the region or country where the very best ingredients are found are the star and the starting point of Nissaba scents: so, rather than the perfumer starting with the composition and the house then buying the ingredients, they start from one star material of a region: Peruvian balsam, vanilla of Grande Ile, Madagascar, Provençal lavender or the guaiac wood of Paraguay, for example. They then look at what natural ingredients grow in the surrounding areas with the idea that these will naturally harmonise in a scent - and then the perfumer has that challenge to create a composition from this starting point to celebrate the country. (And it's worth pointing out that some incredible perfumers were brought to create for this brand: Sebastian Cresp, Ilias Ermenidis, Franck Voekl, and Fabrice Pellegrin, among others.)As for this scent, we're in Paraguay where the only known source of guaiac wood (palo santo) is found.Top: bergamot, lemon yerba mate absolute. Heart: petitgrain, lavandin and cardamom. Base: Palo Santo extract, vetiver, cedar oil. A beautiful fresh uplifting yet grounding fragrance - unisex and perfect for hot weather. Feels like an oasis in this hot, sticky London weather and I'm reaching for it often. A more intimate bubble, the projection is similar to a cup of mate tea would be - and I get about 3-4hrs longevity.If you like Wulong Cha, The Yulong or perhaps Les Jardins from Hermes or Blu Mediterránea collection from Acqua di Parma I would definitely recommend trying this one (but I've not found any I didn't like yet from this brand).More Nissaba bottles in my future, I predict!
