ChanelChance Eau Fraiche Eau de Parfum4.067 ratingsRecently added this one to the collection and I'm glad I did - it's wonderful in the ridiculous summer heat we're having. So far, it is my favorite of the Chance flankers (though I will have to retry Eau Splendide).
It opens up with a blast of sharp, blindingly bright, effervescent citrus and aldehydes that pulls a little salty and artificial on my skin. Not my favorite opening, but it quickly softens. The citrus then blends smoothly into a translucent, watery jasmine with frosty aquatic notes and a delightful teak wood base. There is almost no sweetness to this scent. The jasmine is not indolic whatsoever, and is very tame and elegant - it simply adds a subtle floral fragrance. Think a few jasmine blossoms that have fallen, and are floating on a crystal clear mountain lake. It is icy, crisp, clean, and very refreshing - definitely perfect for being outdoors. It makes me feel like I should be hiking or taking a walk somewhere, relishing the sunshine and beautiful views!
My husband thinks this one smells masculine; I think it is definitely a unisex scent. It projects well and lasts around 8-9 hours on me. I think that is a big improvement compared to the EDT. It is very similar to the EDT in terms of scent, just a bit woodier and more ambery on the drydown, and with much better performance.
A clean, fresh, uplifting scent, perfect for outdoors activities and the hottest weather. 9/10
