Lost in Paradise

Lost in Paradise opens with a strong aroma of heady, perfumey ylang ylang and a small slice of sweet peach. It's rather soapy - I think overly so. I do also get the slightly savory coconut water and beach air, which contributes to a gentle marine quality. As it dries down, it becomes a bit more subtle, and the scent becomes more fruity. Peach is listed, but I also get a lot of ripe pear, a bit of papaya, and a generous dose of bitter, watery, crisp green bamboo. The orchid in this is not a vanilla orchid, but a more lemony, heavily floral aroma. The dry down is a bit creamy as well from the coconut, which has transitioned from coconut water to coconut milk, though it is still unsweetened. The musks add an element of clean skin coated in sea spray. The drydown is a creamy, salty, vaguely fruity beach scent.

During the opening, this perfume is a bit much when close to skin but smells very nice in the air. The dry down is wonderful both up close and in the air. The opening is extremely strong though - one spray almost took me out 😅

This projects strongly for around an hour, with moderate projection for 2 hours after that. The scent lasts on my skin for around 7 hours.

This would be an excellent pick for a vacation or warm weather outing. Go easy on the sprays as the opening is beast mode. Honestly, the dry down could be great for work too if you're in the mood for a summer scent. Just let the opening dissipate before you walk into the office!

It is a pity the opening is so soapy and intense, because the dry down is really quite beautiful and addictive. For that reason, I'll have to give this one a 6.75/10.
