Cretan Blue

I’ve been wearing Korres Cretan Blue for the past few days, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite warm-weather fragrances. From the first spray, it feels like standing on a Greek coastline with a fresh sea breeze coming in off the water.The opening is bright and crisp, with a burst of bergamot and ginger that feels clean without being overly citrusy. What stood out to me most is the salty marine note. It gives the fragrance a fresh, airy quality that feels realistic rather than the typical "aquatic" scent you find in so many summer fragrances.As it develops, the fragrance softens and becomes a little smoother and more elegant. There’s a subtle floral touch from the rose and orris, but it never leans overly floral. Instead, it adds a clean, slightly powdery texture that blends beautifully with the salty freshness.The dry down is where Cretan Blue really shines. The sandalwood, ambergris, and tonka bean create a warm, skin-like finish that feels comforting and refined. Even hours later, I kept catching little hints of that salty-woody combination, which made me want to keep smelling my wrist. There is a muskiness to this fragrance that is quite addicting as well.Performance is moderate on my skin. It isn't a powerhouse fragrance, but that's part of its charm. It wears close enough to feel effortless while still being noticeable. I found it perfect for daytime wear, casual evenings, and especially hot, humid weather.Overall, Cretan Blue feels sophisticated without trying too hard. It's fresh, clean, and relaxing, with a Mediterranean character that sets it apart from many generic summer scents.
