Dirty Rice is predominantly a musky, woody scent. On the opening I'm getting horchata. I can definitely smell spices and some rice flour, rather than fluffy steamed rice. There is also a heavy dose of sweet, synthetic musks (like those found in Glossier You) that gradually get stronger and stronger until the rice note is all but drowned out. It's also got a bit of warmed plastic smell, kind of like Barbie dolls?? Very interesting. It's not unpleasant, just not what I was expecting. I was thinking it would be a bit warmer, cozier, and gourmand, but with all the synthetic notes it is quite cold feeling. There is some soapiness to the scent, and it is also very, very woody. I think some of the spiciness I'm getting is from the cedar and sandalwood. As it dries down it gets less sweet and more earthy and woody.
This could 100% be a You flanker and I would not blink an eye.
Moderate to strong projection for a few hours then fades to a barely there skin scent by hour 6.
Based on the notes this one should be a winner. Unfortunately, it missed the mark for me and isn't something I feel like I need to add to my collection. Overall not impressed. 5/10
