A tale of three scents

I'll preface this by saying I have no experience with the original, A&F Ezra Fitch. I can't give an approximation of how close it is.

This has had two months to oxidize (or whatever your preferred term is), so I feel comfortable giving it a rating at this point. Upon delivery I was a bit disappointed with it, and even though the scent has further developed, it's not something I really enjoy.

The immediate opening phase is a bright lemon and bergamot citrus. This only lasts a few minutes, before it moves into a heart that's dominated by an animalic leather and musk. It's honestly a bit jarring as the whole tone of the fragrance shifts.

After a few hours the citrus seems to come back out, oddly enough, and it's mixed with some light lavender. All of these melds with those darker heart notes for something a bit more palatable to my nose, but still not something I think I'm going to keep around.

Performance is pretty disappointing, too, considering Dua advertises it as a 30+% concentration. I wouldn't mind the lack of projection after 30-60 minutes, but the scent itself is barely detectable on skin past three to four hours.

Fitch Cologne is not something I'll seek to repurchase or likely even finish the 30ml. It isn't an awful scent, it just isn't something I enjoy wearing.
