Christmas rose

This was the first ELDO sample I've tried, and it definitely left an impression. Usually, while I try on a fragrance for the first time, I read the description on the brand's website to better understand what it's trying to convey. This perfume promised a rose, spiky and bloody.

Indeed, it opens as a mix of a rose, bitter citruses, and a sting of ginger. But within 15 minutes, ginger evaporated, and all I've got was spicy oranges and a very dusty rose as a background staying with me for the rest of the day. There's definitely no blood, the spikiness is also very furtive and fleeting.

I can't complain, though, as the scent is quite pleasant to me. It reminds me of a cosy Christmas from my childhood. Zesty orange peel for a festive smell and a dusty old box with ornaments that survived decades against all odds: fragile, crudely painted, but still shiny and precious. I didn't get what was promised, but this perfume did bring me joy.

I'm not sure if I'd recommend it, though, since my impression differs so greatly from the vibe the brand tries to create.
