Imagine the crisp, metallic woods of Maison Crivelli Safran Secret, overlaid with a resinous cathedral incense. Subtely sweet like a spiced bbq sauce, but more dry. Unmistakably ecclesiastical for ~2 hours before the clean-cut, musky cashmeran dominates. Risky one for work - it's pretty potent and far from mass-appealing - but I wanted to spend the day with it.

      Quite enjoying this one! A little richer and a touch sweeter during a full wear compared to the couple test sprays I've had at home.

      Ill look into this when I explore incense scents a bit more! I blind bought Oud de Carthage because of the interesting spicy/herby Provençal honey note and that its an oud-leather-resin, hoping its a banger. Also a lesser known work by Dominic Ropion!

      I remember you said, yeah. Still waiting on it to arrive I see 😅 Ropion certainly knows his way around incense - how it's done in Portrait of a Lady smells immaculate to me - one of my favourites.

    I do love those notes, especially a good liturgical incense.

      Your name checks out, incense cat! This is squarely within the liturgical realm of incense, especially in the opening. After a few hours it's as if we venture down to the wooden basement when they store the vestments and sacred objects - still incensey, but with a muskier, woodier feeling.
