A sweet, delicious rose

On a blind sample first, my nose got a sweet, fresh and dewy rose, velvet petals, rhubarb tones, not tart but fresh and slightly metallic, a quiet bourbon vanilla in the base with woods and musk. And I really love it. Sniffed myself all day long. Got a few compliments at regional meeting. Really loving it and there’s a nostalgic pull in this fragrance that makes me think of Stella.

I resprayed when I got home from work and looked at the notes. I was not expecting grapefruit and mint. It’s such a well blended scent, these notes aren’t obvious but are there to add that freshness to the rose without it smelling like an air freshener.

I was also not expecting lychee. It’s definitely more rhubarb to my nose. And I think that’s because a lot of modern rose & lychee combos have an aquatic lean to them and all also are usually douse in akigalawood, which unfortunately for me seems to induce nausea when used in feminine leaning perfumes. Not a drop of akigalawood wood here!🙌🏼

The bourbon vanilla in the base is chefs kiss, giving this rose a sweet ambery profile that’s supported by gentle musks and woods with the tiniest hint of fresh spice and powder in the dry down.

Well lads, this is a love for me. It’s not groundbreaking, it’s not some POAL masterpiece. But for me, this is a beautifully well blended and easy to wear sweet rose that’s never cloying nor tips into potpourri territory. It just lands perfectly to my rose and makes me feel happy. I would love this for snuggling up on the sofa, watching a movie as I find something utterly comforting yet feminine in this.

I’ve already decided that I’m going to get a 10ml travel of this. Checking out EPs website I also seen that the rose absolutes used in this are certified ‘For Life’, supporting a sustainable approach to harvesting and fair wages for local communities. So extra brownie points from me.
