A true chypre classic

Continuing my journey through affordable chypre classics. I think I prefer Aromatics Elixir, but this is also nice. It's brighter and powderier than AE. If AE is the deep green of a mossy forest, Azurée is the bright yellow-green of standing in a grassy field gone dry at the end of summer, a film of dust on your leather shoes.

This fragrance was given five stars by Luca Turin, and as it dries down, I understand why. It starts sharp, bright green-yellow, slightly indolic and dries down to rich leather and herbs. Magnificent. Doesn't last as long as AE, but still pretty tenacious.
