Etat Libre D'OrangeExit The King3.695 ratingsThis arrived last night. I gave it a dab and wrote a few thoughts: An old-school masculine soap. A little rosy, a little mossy, a slight peppery kick. It reminds me of Mousse Illuminee, but not so dense and mossy. It came as a recommendation for Orphéon-adjacent cleanliness, but the jury's still out...let's see how it goes

You should definitely check out ELDO's sample sets! They come in a set of 4 variety pack and you can choose which ones you get. Only 18 bucks on their site.

I got a sample of this. I kind of got into my ELDO era this Summer and have sampled about 15 of their scents so far. This one was OK. It literally does smell like soap (which is a note) to me with a slight rose in the drydown. Smells fine, but I want to smell more complex than like soap. 🤣

Sometimes simplicity done excellently makes for a spectacular wear, but I feel you, when it comes to something as ubiquitous as soap, a little extra intrigue wouldn't go amiss 😆

I don’t find this overly masc but I tend to prefer neutral scents in general. I really love the soap in this, one of my favorite “clean soap “ scents!

I've had it on for around 2 hours now. I agree it's not overly masculine, but certainly leaning in that direction to my nose. Dry musks I generally associate with 80s masculine fragrances, whereas brighter, more sparkly musks I view as more feminine. Lots of crossover though of course.
