Creamy fig, powdery Iris, smooth vanilla musk - the best hug!

This opens with a lovely inviting fresh, fleshy yet slightly jammy fig. There’s richness here but a hint of damp green cassis stops it spilling into cloying. It’s sweet and fruity with a soft spiciness, a bit of green iris spiciness but there’s also some warm spiciness, a hint of cinnamon, a bit of woody fig, a bit of dried peach.

As this starts to settle into the heart, there’s beautiful fruity florals amongst the powdery iris and a slightly green, woody fig. It’s earthy, musky, woody, fruity and floral with just the right amount of sweet. It remains warm yet fresh. Notes here are less distinct.

It’s a lovely, well blended accord. It’s intriguing and quietly alluring yet comforting and familiar.

As this starts to dry down, a lovely hint of creamy vanilla warms on the skin and nostrils. The quiet vanilla Is used perfectly in the base of a fragrance, blending well with the woods and musk, to add a warmth and depth to the fruity florals. Phlur’s signature DNA of benzoin and sandalwood are also quietly there in the background.

I enjoy Phlur’s thoughtful application of names to their fragrances. The opening weirdly reminds me of Spicebomb. There was no escape from this perfume in early 2010’s. So my thoughts are that younger millennials, on first whiff of Father Figure, might be transported to a paternal familiarity.

There’s a cozy, safety in this accord.A really beautiful, easy to wear fruity, floral, woody, musky, slightly creamy and earthy quiet fig with a hint of powder. A cozy comforting scent with a slightly dreamy, alluring quality. Perfect for darker evenings in, snuggled on the sofa but suitable all year round.

A favourite bedtime scent for me. It’s a cozy hug and a gentle kiss on the forehead as I close my eyes and drift of to sleep.
