Working through something

Specifically, a decant order from earlier this week. Nishane is one of those houses I’ve avoided because too many people talk about them—and so many of their fragrances get hyped up online by people I would make a point to avoid in a social setting 🤭. This avoidance of hyped things often makes me a latecomer to things that I actually enjoy. I’ll finally see the movie, read the book, eat at the restaurant six months or six years after everyone’s shut up about it and thrill in it like an unearthed time capsule! All this to explain that ouds, and especially rose-ouds, are a recent fascination for me, and Favonius came recommended in a review of another fragrance I was testing.
