Vows that bind

Fetters is part of the "Taboo" perfume series that explores different taboo topics. This perfume isn't only about bondage, as the label might suggest, but in general about social pressure that binds us and leads us to certain socially acceptable choices, whether we want them or not.

This one of those perfumes I find rather confusing, as I can't for the life of me see how the herbal explosion composition has anything to do with the premise. It reminds me of that one time I was taking a bus near the city centre - it was relatively crowded, and an Orthodox priest was standing right beside me, smelling of herbs - not unlike this fragrance. It's a rich indulgent and pleasant green scent, but feels a bit tiger balmy due to that. I don't get chocolate or tobacco from it, and maybe a tiniest bit of cannabis - green herbs overpower it all, and lavender gives it a strong medicinal quality. I usually like herbal fragrances, especially from this brand, but this one, in particular, feels a bit all over the place.

The performance is nothing to complain about, the projection is moderate, and it lasts easily for a whole day dwindling down to a skin scent. If only it didn't remind me of an Orthodox priest fragrance or a back pain balm, I would maybe like it quite a bit more.
