Trying to remain impartial here..

...but it's tough. This scent is one of the best three fragrances I've smelled as I've built my collection.

Finley opens with a bright pop from the combination of pepper, cardamom and star anise. It isn't citrusy clean, but it's fresh and spicy clean.

While the opening is great, the heart is what really sets it apart. The matcha, salt, and pistachio is a unique combination. The salt almost gives it a slight marine quality, and the pistachio giving it a savory angle plays into it as well. The matcha keeps it from getting too deep.

As the heart fades, a worn leather and violet comes through. I'm a huge violet fan anyway, so this is just icing on the cake.

For me, performance is very strong, lasting through the workday with my normal spray regimen (one to the neck, each elbow or wrist, and one or two to the torso).

Finley is fresh and clean, but with a strong depth. It's wearable three and a half seasons; the depths of summer might be a bit too much for something with a solid leather presence.
