Can't resist this Bisch

Finally, a Quentin Bisch creation I can actually love! The man knows what he's about, but I normally struggle with his addiction to akigalawood. None of that to be found in French Affair, bless!

This fragrance is gorgeously blended, velvety dark green and red. No aldehydes to prickle the nose, so you're left drowsing on a soft bed of moss and rose petals, surrounded by looming cedars and shy violets in the undergrowth. An ode to Aramis, made to romance the wearer in the golden hour.

If you enjoy booming 70s chypres but want something that feels more modern and less like a bar of Dial soap, give this affair a try.

      I realized that Quentin Bisch is the perfumer here, which makes me unreasonably irritable, as I haven't liked a Bisch yet and I'm sorry to break my streak. 😂 After drying down a bit more, French Affair smells like Aromatics Elixir if you made it mind its manners and wear a silk suit.

      I feel the same way about Bisch. I just looked at all of his creations and realized that I’ve never tried one that I liked. And I’ve tried dozens of them!

      He's so prolific, I'm sure there are more I would enjoy! Ganymede and Bois Imperial made me genuinely nauseated, sadly, and Chloe Cedrus smells like a dentist's office to me. 😅

      That is fair. I would say I am 50/50 on the ones I have tried. They can be great, but a lot of them are just *too* much 😅
