Yay scent mail! I really try not to blind-buy full bottles these days but I got this on a good discount, and I really like what the brand stands for. First impressions: opens verrrrry smoky but I like where this is going. I’m getting more of the wood and incense now, and the smoke has softened into recently extinguished candles. I’ll need to sit with this for a few hours, but so far it’s one of the better dark churchy fragrances I’ve tried. I don’t regret this purchase one bit! Though I maybe do regret spraying it right before my run…this is definitely not a workout scent 😅

      La Religieuse? Very different! With La Religieuse I get a clean jasmine and not much incense. Fugitives is smoky and woody with wax and incense. I do like both of them though, could be a fun layering combo to try…

    I don’t mind a little bit of smoke, but don’t enjoy it when it’s very strong. How’d this one settle?

    Intrigued… I like the candle wax note in Clue With the Candlestick. This reads like its no tongue-in-cheek, more serious sibling. Do you know it? How would you compare them, if so!

      I think your comparison is accurate! They smell pretty different but they both have that blown out candle thing. WtC I get the fun cherry note and the smokiness is softer. Fugitives has heavier/harsher smoke and I find it a bit waxier. It’s definitely churchier, while WtC to me feels more like candles burning on a mahogany desk in a fancy study
