Sample September Super Saturday!

I have a pile of designers that I’ve never sampled, they’ve been hidden in a box, because I never reach for them. My sample’s are backlogged because I usually like to spent a full day with a scent.. but I need to make a dent.. so I’m doing a Sample September Super Saturday! One on each hand, each elbow, each knee.. each foot?

Will edit as I go along with first impressions.

Omnia Amethyste: Opens as a fresh and gentle lilac that’s clean and shampooy, as it dries down the florals become more iris and soapy with a powdery touch. Clean and elegant floral freshly, would be great for the office, gym or just running errands.

Devotion: Holy lemons Batman. I’ve sniffed this in store on paper, but this is the first time having it on my skin. It’s like I’ve popped a lemon sherbet and a butter ball in my mouth at the same time. Super sweet gourmand that is drying down to a Lemon Meringue Pie served with crème anglaise. Interesting sweet spicy facets in the dry down. I don’t think this one’s for me.

Good Fortune Elixir Intense: Sweet floral vanilla that’s syrupy and custard like on opening. I don’t find the jasmine indolic and the smoky incense facets are whispered. Smooth sandalwood coming through in the heart. Well blended. Has a vintage feel to it. Going to set this to the side and give it a full day test I think. The dark juice is a clothes stainer.. approach with caution. Eeep! This is going a bit ‘biscuit dipped in sour milk’ on me in the dry down.

J'adore L'Or (2023) Essence: Golden sweet, bright and wet yet creamy florals, like standing in a sun shower in the middle of the garden in the summer, your warm skin wet from the gentle rain surrounded by the blooming flowers of orange blossom, rose and jasmine. Happy nostalgia to the J’Adore DNA. Cheerful yet elegantly feminine.

    lol! That’s the way to do it! I had a sample of Berry Crush and I liked it. But I have a cheaper Berry scent I like way better. I love Devotion but I think it’s a love or hate relationship with that one. As a tuberose lover I will always have L'Interdit for in my collection. I wore J'adore when I was in my late 20’s and early 30’s back when I thought one must have a signature scent. Oh how the mighty have fallen 😂

    L'or is probably the only version of J'adore I actually like 😂 looking forward to reading your impressions. And I really dislike Devotion (no offense to any fans here 👀), but it smells like lemon scented floor cleaner to me 😬

      I tested this in store and I liked it, and I still like it. I just can’t get over the bottle designs, they aren’t pleasing to my eye 🙈

    Haha, I do rarely spray samples on my knees if I run out of arm space. My husband thinks I'm crazy! And I love Devotion, but I can see why it isn't for everyone.

      He is definitely looking at me like I’m crazy lol. The problem I have with gourmands if they’re quite edible is the fear that I would end up the size of a house, every whiff of this is just making me crave lemon meringue pie and cinnamon custard.

    I smelled Omnia Amethyste at the airport and really liked it. Crystal Noir is 👌, it didn’t suit me but I love it on others. I love gourmands but didn’t like Devotion. I actually tried the latest flanker of Devotion today and found it fresher/lighter than the og. I think it might be due to added honeydew note.

    Lololol, when I’m working through some samples in rapid-fire (usually of ones I’m not TOO invested in/have no initial interest in ever purchasing) I’ll spray back of my hands, inner forearm, then somewhere I can reach/sniff on upper arm/shoulder. Haven’t resorted to lower body yet but you are inspiring me, haha! 🧘‍♀️
