Lightning in a bottle

"Grim" means "thunder" in Ukrainian, and that's exactly the idea for this perfume. A smell of ozone in the air, static electricity. I wonder how this was all so perfectly blended into a single fragrance. This a rain themed fragrance with zero petrichor or aquatic notes. Just the warm, dry, steamy air and cold bitter wind right before the storm.

The first sniff is all ozonic and electric, then the dryness and grassiness of cannabis and green and metallic vetiver. It's exactly the feeling of the sky getting suddenly overcast. The sunlight gets weird, like in a dream, and everything feels just a little bit flat as if in a cartoon.

This fantastic composition lasts for three hours or so and then slowly devolves into an odd ambroxan and iso-e mess with a hint of smoke. I understand the idea to "pull down" the smoky notes that usually appear in the beginning and make them prominent towards the end. And if someone is less sensitive to ambroxan and iso-e, that might even work. I don't mind those, but I can smell them more than the smoke, so it feels quite distracting.

Overall, it's an absolutely unique one-of-a-kind olfactory experience. Very evocative and beautiful. If you can try it - try it, there's nothing quite like it. But the drydown makes me very much not want it as a perfume, sadly.
