Reclining on a plush lilac chaise longue in a dimly lit Middle Eastern café, we nibble on sweet figs. Sandalwood sculptures cast warm shadows, and the spiced aroma of cardamom-infused tea wafts through the air.
Gris Charnel is deeply romantic. It's sumptuous yet airy, elegant yet understated, poised yet playful. It originally stuck me as a scent worn best by a well-established woman, yet nowadays it feels entirely wearable by anyone.
I adore a good fig note, and here it's been done to perfection - a gorgeous balance of sweet jamminess and dewy freshness, with the warm depth of spiced tea and creamy woods providing a rich, intimate wholeness.
Of the countless perfumes I've tried but don't own, Gris Charnel EDP is one of the standouts. On rainy days, especially when the air is cold and the skies are grey, it wears exceptionally well.
