Trying a few Amouage decants
AmouageGuidance 464.242 ratingsHow fun! I've got 4 Amouage decants to discuss today.
Guidance - what a unique scent. It's so well blended I have a hard time picking out notes. I'm getting spicy candied pear, toasted hazelnuts, powdery vanilla, and rose, drizzled in condensed milk. The drydown is addictive. I like it very much. 10/10 scent but I don't think it fits my image.
Guidance 46 - A slightly woodier Guidance with a strong juicy, tart note. It must be the pear, which instead of being candied, is now fresh and very ripe. Unfortunately, it leans a bit pickle juice on me. It gives a very elegant, regal image and the bottle is an absolute work of art. 10/10 scent but 9/10 personally because of the pickle juice effect on my skin.
Lilac Love - the opening is screechy and awful to me - smells like opening a bottle of nail polish. After about 5-10 minutes it gets much better and softens into a heady, powdery lilac scent with a bit of laundry soap. Great if you like lilacs but it's just OK for me. Very pretty and feminine. 6/10
Love Delight - my favorite of the four. The notes make it seem heavy, but it's not at all. Spicy warmth from ginger and cinnamon over a comforting base of delicate powdery flowers and creamy rum punch. I will have to test it more but definitely 10/10 and potentially FBW!
I must say all of them are unique, blended beautifully and are very high quality, even if I don't personally like them. Very impressed with Amouage so far!
