Histoires de ParfumsAmbre 1144.3111 ratingsSo I love amber. This is a vintage style amber. The opening - nutmeg + thyme - has major grandma vibes. Also, hello geranium. We are not really friends. Fortunately you're not too overwhelming here. I don't love this, but I don't hate it either. Maybe it will grow on me? It just reads 'old' to me.

Pretty much THE quintessential amber to my nose. I feel it has that classic (vintagey) amber accord and not much else. Ambre Sultan has the herbs, Ambra Aurea has the incense, but I feel this one (and perhaps L'Artisan's Ambre EDT), are better benchmarks.

I am liking it a bit better post opening. She will need an outing! AS and AA are both lovely. I haven't seen the L'Artisan one so will add it to my sample list, thank you 🙂

To me, Ambre 114 is more of a benchmark amber scent than Serge Lutens' Ambre Sultan, which has a thick, herbal opening, or Profumum Roma's Ambra Aurea which leans heavily into the cola-scented face
