Absolue Hot As Rose

Hot As Rose opens up tart and fruity - it must be the blackcurrant syrup and the agathosma (buchu). It has a lovely dark, sweet jamminess but is also bright and juicy. The green herbs are not too strong, and bring a pleasant aromatic freshness to the scent. The dusty rose with the blackcurrant and herbs is lovely and well blended. I really like this one on skin, actually! I think Lancome does really good fruity notes and the blackcurrant here is no exception.

The dry down is very nice. It is much more rose forward, though the tart fruitiness is still there. It actually smells a lot like my favorite rose and patchouli perfume - YSL Rouge Velours - but the performance is so much better.

Projection is good, and is noticeable for about 5 hours while the longevity is excellent, with it stuck firmly on skin even the next day (15+ hours later!).

A dark, fruity rose with an unexpected aromatic twist that makes it lean a bit more unisex, though in my opinion it is still feminine leaning. This would be perfect for cooler weather or evening wear. It has great performance as well. Hot As Rose definitely lives up to its name - is a scent for when you're feeling sexy, powerful, mysterious, and maybe even a little dangerous. I like this one a lot. I give it a 9/10.
