Rhubarb is the moment round here

These Prada infusions are little gems, btw! A great, accessible way to showcase key notes, and I really like this one (two other faves are Santal Chai and Ylang, and I'm trying to track down a mimosa).

Back to rhubarb, the note.... I love the smell and taste and slightly astringent tang of rhubarb (my mum makes a cracking rhubarb crumble and often this would be from homegrown garden rhubarb!). However, my skin has a bit of a weird relationship with it: certain scents it dials it down or turns it more green, bitter or even 'celery' (Jorum Pony Boy as an example), others it puts rhubarb where no rhubarb exists (Floraiku One Umbrella for Two I SWEAR has a very distinct rhubarb note but nothing is listed). My current fave is Soleil d'hiver by Experimental Perfume Club - the oolong tea note really makes it feel like realistic, light rhubarb (perhaps the tannin aspect?) whereas other presentations hit me like the old rhubarb and custard sweets!

But this infusion is closer to the mark sitting somewhere between all of these things. I layered with Commodity Juice in an effort to ramp up the rhubarb but today my skin/nose is amplifying the rose in it which I'm not enjoying so much. (Is there a linear, straight, minimal black tea fragrance I could layer with maybe?)
