Mature but not Old-fashioned

Typically, I'm not a fan of floral notes, especially rose, but Lamar by Kajal strikes a beautiful balance between fruits and florals. It's mature and modern without ever coming across as stuffy or old-fashioned.

The opening is sweet, but not a rot-your-teeth kind of sweetness. Instead, it reminds me of a selection of Turkish delight presented in a beautiful box, reserved for those quiet moments when you want to treat only yourself to a special indulgence.

At its heart, Turkish and Bulgarian roses shine. They smell remarkably natural rather than synthetic. I feel as though I could distinguish the individual roses if they were presented to me in a bouquet, flanked by the more distant scents of magnolia and jasmine.

As it dries down, the rose remains, but it's softened by a creamy blend of vanilla and praline. The result is floral and sweet without becoming overly feminine or powderu, a surprisingly beautiful composition for someone who normally isn't drawn to rose fragrances.
