Going to an appointment today and wanted something light and just for me. This one is a deeply personal scent; it smells like my late cat in the dry down when I apply it to clothing. Today I put it on skin. It's less effective to conjure her memory, but just enough to remind me of her without breaking down. It's an ozonic freshly laundered cotton, it's hot black fur in a midsummer sunbeam as she watches out the bedroom window. It's a memory of a fluffy little member of the family, fur still damp from the bath she took while she was draped across my leg. Maybe I should have left this as a home fragrance. It's been a couple years and I thought it could be calming, but it's still difficult. It will mix with the office's lavender soon enough!

    This made my heart ache—I recently saved 2 stray kittens in my neighborhood, and had a flash-forward to daydreams (daymares would be more appropriate lol) of their elderly years and the inevitability of their passing❤️😢thank you for sharing❤️

      She was 13 and she started out as a bottle baby foster. We both fell in love with her, my husband especially. She was a very special girl. ❤️ We adopted a kitten in October, a year and a half after losing her, and i definitely have learned not to take for granted that he eats and drinks well and has endless energy for play!

      Thank you! She is the reason I'm on a mission to destigmatize black cats. She was such a perfect cat. We adopted a black kitten a year and a half after we lost her - he and some of the other black cats had some of the longest stays at the shelter since we'd started visiting!
