Vintage Glamour

I am fortunate to own a pristine and most beautiful Fleurs de Métieres vintage refillable travel spray from the 1950’s. Someone early got it as a gift and promptly put it, boxed and all, in a drawer and forgot about it. I don’t wear if often, but it’s SUCH a treat when I do.

The fragrance is spectacular. Top notes are Aldehydes (but not the Chanel kind), Coriander, Peach, Bergamot and Lemon; middle notes are Lilac, Orris Root, Ylang-Ylang, Lily-of-the-Valley, Rose, Jasmine and Almond; base notes are Civet, Sandalwood, Musk, Benzoin, Vanilla, Vetiver, Amber, Peru Balsam, Tonka Bean and Patchouli.

This version opens with sparkle and becomes softer, more floral than the civet, balsam, vanilla-ish Tonka and patch deepen throughout the day. However, that little zing of lemon never entirely disappears. Two sprays are more than enough and will last until bedtime.
