An early obsession, slightly faded

I got the Jouissance discovery set (“the collected works”) a few months ago, when I was beginning my Year of Fragrance Discovery, which basically means “sampling loads of stuff to work out what I like” and early on this was a real winner. It’s funny because this is almost in the middle of La Bague d’O’s powder bomb and En Plein Air’s citrusy freshness.

This is clean musk, a touch of powder, and some heliotrope and iris, and it’s very nice. It’s so expensive though, at £180 for 50ml, that I cannot see myself ever upgrading to a full bottle - although I did get another sample set. I could possibly be persuaded by the fragrance oil version. It’s pretty and easy to wear, I’m just not convinced it’s quite special enough for the price.
