A surprise win

This barely made it into my sample cart. I was a little worried it might be too soapy-clean or powdery for me, or have some hidden watery note, but the lemongrass lured me in.

It’s beautiful. It is definitely on the fresh clean side, but not in the sharp way where it feels like my sinuses are being scrubbed with a soapy loofah. It has a very heady feeling at first, with a beautiful natural lemongrass note in the lead and a touch of bergamot and jasmine. It’s more floral as it dries, but it keeps the citrusy freshness. It’s mostly sheer silky jasmine, like organza, with just a hint of ylang ylang sweetness. A little green, like a jasmine tea. It’s very elegant and unobtrusive, even though it definitely projects well. Smells expensive.

Past 5 hours, it gets muskier but still very bright, and has a very slight powderiness, and somehow it almost reads like heliotrope to me. By the end it reminds me of a very nice high end shampoo.

It brightens my mood and it feels office safe, a rare and treasured combination.
