Lavender in the Shade

We begin in a lavender field on the edge of the woods. The lavender’s familiar floral softness is warmed by the black pepper dancing alongside it. There’s nothing brash about the spice; instead, it gives the lavender a little more body, creating an opening that feels calming and serene.

As we leave the field and move beneath the trees, the pepperiness departs, and the lavender softens into something more powdery - a hazy purple veil hovering around the woods. A warm dusting of nutmeg feels like sunlight filtering through the canopy, while tonka bean introduces a fine thread of sweetness - more reminiscent of an almond than anything I’d describe as sugary.

The longer it wears, the muskier it becomes. The lavender never quite disappears, but becomes increasingly hazy and delicate, dissolving into the warmth of the skin. The whole composition feels remarkably natural and unforced - characteristic of L’Occitane - as though we’ve simply carried the scent of the lavender field into the woods with us.

It probably won’t turn any heads, but is sure to give you a feeling of deep relaxation. Quiet, cosy, and beautifully understated, it’s a perfect companion to linen shirts, introspective walks, and slow mornings.
