Clean laundry

This is a first wear review for take with all the grains you can muster.

Love-o-Matic sets out to provide a crisp, clean, freshly laundered scent and to that end, it does it really well.

It opens with some fruity nuances (very faint to my nose) and a big heaping of ozonic notes (which can be divisive for many). There purportedly is bubblegum but my nose didn’t wrangle it. It could be located in the faint sweet notes mingling on the periphery but a second wear is needed for me to know for certain.

It’s immediately out of the gate clean cotton à la some 90’s candle I used to enjoy from Yankee Candles. The clean cotton smell is pleasant and inoffensive yet I’m struck with “do I want to smell like this enough to buy a decant or bottle?”

Eh, probably not. There’s another clean laundry perfume that does this schtick well (though not as well): Musc Pallas by Jovoy. It begins similarly to this but as it dries it becomes a delicious sweet, soft musk. The crisp outdoor line-dried cotton phases to a cozy, warm, snuggly scent. I’d probably opt for this rather than Love-o-Matic.

Love-o-Matic does clean laundry really well and it’s a nice scent. But for me, it’s maybe too “on the nose” to warrant further purchase.

Its longevity seems to be decent and I’m betting on fabric it would be 12+hours.
