Madawi Gold Edition

Madawi Gold had been on my radar for the last 9-10 months but I could never pull the trigger as it retails for 300, sells out when discounted and it can be hard to sample Arabian Oud. I finally got to wear it last night and after you’re met with an initial burst of various tropical fruit, think something in the space of Erba Pura, you get a vanilla that’ll remind you of the vanilla in Silky Woods by Goldfield and Banks. No, this isn’t a clone of either nor is it a hybrid of the two that’s just the best way I can describe the scent. Throughout the duration of the fragrance life you’ll get a fruity vanilla that’s not too playful but also not stuffy and too put together. You could signature this if you’re really into sweet fragrance. As it dries down, it becomes a little powdery and musky but still stays in the aforementioned lane.

Performance is really good, much like anything from the house. Solid 5-6 hours pushing off my skin, with it being detectable for 8+.

Very much a unisex fragrance maybe leans slightly fem. I have no issue rocking this and I would love to smell it on a woman.

Overall, while I can’t justify the retail price of 300usd if you can get it overseas where it doesn’t retail as high or you find it at a good discount, it is worth the money if you like this style of fragrance.
