Sample Sunday

@clean_ship6776 SOTD during the week reminded me to dig out my sample.

First impressions as I’ve only had it on my skin for an hour. This opens with a blast of boozy orange. It’s not a fizzy Aperol Spritz, to my nose, it’s a big bowl of freshly cut orange and mandarin segments that are soaking in Aperol. It’s bitter, zesty, fresh and ORANGE - delicious.

After 10 mins the fresh spicy facets pull through with the vetiver and pepper with little black tea nuances. As it moves into the dry down it becomes a lot more smoother, softer and a little bit sweeter. The orange, spices, woods and patch are well blended here though my nose picks out the cardamom. It’s relaxed into a gorgeous calming fresh and spicy Orange & Aperol iced tea that dressed with an aromatic garnish. It’s good stuff, and I’ve very much enjoyed this, but it leans too masculine for my summer preference of (mostly) femine fruity florals, so I’ll leave the sample out for the other half to try.

An aside to MM Replica’s nod to the Amalfi Coast, this does nothing to evoke a memory of one of my fav places to holiday. To me, the Amalfi is all about LEMONS and neroli. Lemon trees everywhere, sipping on limoncello, lemon scented toiletries, lemon, bergamot and neroli oil aromas dancing out of the Maiolica craft shops in the sunshine. This scent is more like Seville for me.
