Nothing Can Go Wrong and Time Isn’t Real

Bohoboco had been on my radar for a bit, but I hadn’t experienced any of their work until ScentFest this year. Now, I’m in love with their entire oeuvre. Plum Spray Paint, Polish Potatoes, Red Wine Brown Sugar, and this - Mango Yuzu Gasoline.

Mango Yuzu Gasoline feels like being a teenager on a day off from a summer job. Get in the car, go to the store, throw food in your bags, leave undetected, fill up the tank, drive to your favorite hiking spot, walk for a few miles, and find somewhere to sit.

And relax. And talk. And listen. And smell the gasoline that dripped a few drops on your fingers. And taste the fresh mango they’re putting in your mouth.

Whether or not the fruit tastes sweeter because you stole it isn’t the point. (But I’d argue it does.) Mango Yuzu Gasoline feels dizzyingly optimistic and bold; like nothing can go wrong and time isn’t real.
