Simply, heavenly ginger.

This is the ginger I’ve been searching my whole life for.

I love a ginger note. It’s used well in so many perfumes, but it’s always the accompanying note in the ones I like and never the main star. Warm gingers are fab but it’s particularly a fresh summer ginger where I was searching and failing.

It’s usually softened and lost in feminine fruity florals and where it’s zingy and fresh and perfect, it’s usually in heavily masculine leaning scents. Nishane’s Ani opening was the closet I got to the fresh ginger I was looking for, and whilst the beautiful vanilla dry down pleases me immensely, I just wanted that ginger to last.

I remember being so excited and then disappointed when Ingenious Ginger arrived (it’s another beautiful scent) but it’s more spicy Orange Solero icecream and it left me yearning for MORE ginger. I need ALL the ginger… and this, THIS is it!

The opening of M01 + Ginger is like sticking your nose into a big glass of sparkling Canada Dry Ginger Ale. Heaven.

The sweetness settles after an hour and it becomes a Fever Tree Ginger Ale, a bit drier and woodier but still delicious.

Perfect.. but..

.. It’s only fault is here - after about three hours the Iso E Super and woods are more apparent and the ginger is a ghost, taunting me from my skin were I have to bring my nose real close to get a whiff of faint ginger. The absolute shame.

8hrs later the other half arrives from work and I’m greeted with the usual hug and kiss but then an, “oh, you smell nice”. I’ve been wearing M01 for years. So I ask him if he recognises the scent. “It’s smells like that one I like on you, but different, spicy? Like ginger.” RESULT. So even if I can’t smell it, someone else can.

I’m going to race through this 10ml travel and if I haven’t found something that smells EXACTLY like this with more longevity, then I think it’s a full bottle for sure. I’m willing to do that for the ginger I’ve be chasing all my life. 3hrs of ginger ale bliss. I’ll take it.
