Beautiful Iris

Opens as a dry, cold and woody Iris. After a few minutes the Molecule 01 warms on my skin, releasing its sweet and other worldly floral scent. Very nice indeed. Though it leaves me pondering.. what does this smell like to people anosmic to Iso E Super? Do they just get Iris Absolu and pencil shavings?

It’s stayed pretty linear all day, the lovely cool and woody Iris, powdery and fresh, elevated with gorgeous whiffs of ambery florals from the 01 coming and going with breezes or body movements, but blended in perfect harmony with each other.

This is beautiful. And I think if it was the first Iris I ever whiffed, it would be my favourite. However, I’m a Guerlain Insolence stan and throughout the day, as I whiffed this scent, I felt myself yearning for my Insolence, that sweeter Iris and Violet. It makes me feel like this would be a more serious Insolence, perfect for a boardroom meeting.

Beautiful. Unisex. Really good stuff and I will happily use up my 10ml travel. Will it be a full bottle candidate? We’ll see, I would definitely prioritise replacing my Insolence, that’s been a part of my life since 2008, before this. There’s just so many life memories attached to it. I guess I’m not sure if I need both? For those that find Insolence too sweet and pretty, then this might be the perfect Iris for you.
