Sensual, spicy & memorable

Named for an Australian bush ranger separated from his lover by death & time (and only recently reunited), this scent echoes this tragic love story beautifully. Starting out with almost gunpowder-like sharpness from ginger, this scent opens into a heady, spicy, oddly juicy sweetness just sharp enough to be poignant. You’d expect the scent to steal away into incense & greenery by the end, but — for me, at least — it surprises by staying, waxing from sharpness to fullness in its woody notes, with a smooth almost-vanilla finish. This is an excellent example of Raconteur’s work. This baby *lasts*, its early projection is good (though it won’t fill the room), and it’s an incredibly wearable gourmand. I haven’t yet come across a Raconteur that hasn’t been well-balanced, but this scent brings that art to a new height, balancing not just spicy woodiness with resins, but also with a surprisingly juicy note at its heart — and all while staying resolutely unisex.
