Flat coca-cola, red berries laminated with damp wood, and the musky sweetness of a kitten's fur.

There's something intimate about Musk Deer - nothing animalic, but with a cosy musk that develops in unison with a gentle woody foundation.

Whilst not a particularly evolving fragrance, at least once the patchouli dries down, it radiates a sense of comfort that few fragrances achieve. Its character is like that of a well-worn fabric or the warmth of your bedsheets when you step out for a moment, only to slip right back in.

I’ve never tried any zoologist before. Would you recommend starting with this, or something else?

Not op, but some good intros for zoologist are Harvest Mouse, Seahorse/Squid, Cow and Penguin imo. I don’t like sweet scents/gourmands but I actually enjoyed one of the ones they have which is Rabbit. Bee is good as well if you’re into honey/beeswax (I’m not haha). It’s an awesome house, very creative, and their ingredients are great! I very much love harvest mouse out of them all

Musk Deer is a very safe bet. A little damp from the patchouli up top, but it doesn’t last long. Quickly turns into a sweetish musk that wouldn't feel out of place anywhere. Harvest Mouse would be another good start - a fairly simple (but perhaps secretly complex) wheaty vanilla.

Great response. I don't particularly like Seahorse or Cow, but agree they're sound entry points. Squid is a little more of an acquired taste with that dentist-office inky vibe, but it's one of the most pleasant ones. I enjoyed Bee too, but would be a bit much in the heat. Rabbit was a stomach churner for me, far too sweet and cloying.
