Not MY Eden

Got a 2ml sample of this. I don't regret trying it despite my disapproval, because now I know I'm not a huge fan of sclarene.

A quick web search of it summons descriptions of strong and dry woodiness, camphor, metallic undertones...Wikiparfum says it gives a "unique metallic effect to fragrances" and evokes "the hot, steamy scent of irons on damp woolen cloth." It occurs naturally in Hall's tōtara (Podocarpus laetus), a conifer native to New Zealand. If I ever visit NZ, I will need to walk amongst these trees during a downpour and see if I can detect sclarene🧡

But, also, if I were ever spaceshuttled to Neo Eden, I'd get one whiff of the planet's atmosphere, do an about face, and be the FIRST in line for the next Earthbound shuttle away from its thick, hot atmosphere that reeks of heated wool and plastic wrapped around the echoes of cold, peachy-rhubarby sweetness, all tempered by cashmeran-enrobed mimosa+nympheal-tinged calls into the void🤣

I don't get any creaminess/milkiness from this whatsoever. This is for noses who love a slightly sweet, very woody, extremely atmospheric scent that challenges your idea of how flowers should smell by overdosing the atmospheric qualities of the molecules comprising it🧡
