When a 1ml sample torments you…

I got a free 1ml sample with purchase and tested on strip. Liked it so it advanced to skin. That wear test happened last night.

I told myself I would test again this morning.

On my skin it was first very bright, invigorating citrus. (Think: YSL Trench; Mizensir Bois Iridescent). Lemon and bergamot and zing! My reaction was, “oh, this is lovely.”

As the drydown developed, my reaction shifted to, “ohhh no. I really like this.” Why “oh no”? Because I don’t need another damn perfume and I especially don’t need another damn iris perfume. But as this wore on, it changed into a sweet, soft, powdery iris and violet My nose hunting the length on my forearm where I applied it. This shift made Nuee Bleue something that would be unique in my collection: sparkly citrus melding to a dreamy (and I mean dreamy!) powdery iris and violet.

I applied this beauty to my skin at 7am and as of 4:30pm I can still smell it. This isn’t “beast mode” but its endurance is appreciated.

The base is still just as pretty. Warm benzoin, musk and sandalwood. It’s one of those perfumes that has three distinct acts, each telling an identifiable part of the story as a whole.

All day I long I was snorting my arm and I finally relented, worn weak under her spell. She pegged me for an iris junkie. Damn it. She was right.

At too reminiscent of Infusion d’Iris but this is more purple colored and overall more powdery to my nose. They diverge at mid through base.
