Taking this discontinued gem for a spin tonight

Cheers to @guerlinaughty for bringing this back to my attention after I'd long forgotten about it. I found someone selling samples, ordered a 2ml, and it arrived just after my run.

I sprayed some on ~15 minutes ago, so here are my initial thoughts:

As expected, the patchouli is immediately front and centre: dark, green, loamy foliage laced with dry herbs, dusty spices and worn leather. How fantastic. There’s a plushness here that screams grown-up, sexy man. Fully grown, with an understanding of exactly who he is, what he has to offer, and what he knows he will accomplish.

It's softening slightly now, but this is not the kind of patchouli scent that could be safe for those who usually don't like the note. This is bold, full-throttle patchouli, complete with all the facets people claim to dislike. Luckily, I'm not one of those people.

Very much looking forward to giving this a full wear, but based on the opening alone, I'll have to choose my time wisely. This is not something for the gym, work, or even the daytime. This one wants darkness.

**Edit** - about two hours in. The face of patchouli that some would call challenging has settled now and it's become deeper, woody and a little ambered. Not in a sweet vanillic way, but like a smoky forest resin. Most of you know what a harsh critic I am, but I'm hovering around an 8.75-9.25 for this. Spicy, woody, masculine sexiness without a trace of bravado. Might not be able to wait for the next evening date to give this a full wear... *checks tomorrow's schedule*
