A Whimsigoth’s Dream 💜

This is without a doubt my favorite fragrance from Heretic, though, tbh I’d put it at a 4.5 (I mean, if a 5 is perfect. What’s perfect?!). The 0.5 is due to the longevity (oh, the price of “clean” fragrance 😩) and the fact that it can get a little too sweet for me at the end. I can do a nuanced sweet, but my body chemistry turns up the volume on anything vaguely resembling sugar.

But there’s much more about this scent that works than doesn’t. It’s named for a cactus flower that only blooms once a year and at night, which is goth af. Due to its rarity, this fragrance is largely composed of what folks say it smells like.

To this nose? It actually kind of reminds me of Florida Water, but a version that leans more femme and vanillic. It’s floral, it’s green, it’s a little sweet and a little spooky. It’s like if Poison Ivy owned one of those trashy faux-metaphysical beach shops. Or the Practical Magic aunts ran a spa-retreat. You know the vibe.
